As part of a very successful fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul, students wore Christmas jumpers to school. Prizes were awarded for the most impressive offerings and Austin Quinn was presented with the funds raised. Student council member, Kate Reynolds also sealed a time capsule as part of our 1916 centenary celebrations. The capsule is not due to be opened until 2066!

From making delicious Christmas Chocolate Yule Logs and festive Christmas Table Displays, students certainly got into the Christmas spirit in Home Economics class this December. 🙂
Check out these amazing projects completed by 2nd year Home Economics students as part of their Christmas assessment. They really thought about the design principles, used very creative ways to make up furniture and put the theory they learnt into practice. Well done to all students.

By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing release of hazardous chemicals and materials.
In September 2015, 193 World Leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. If these are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030!
The global goals are only going to work if we fight for them and you can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. In school we learn about these goals through a variety of subjects like CSPE, Geography, English, Home Economics, Science to name but a few.

First year materials technology Wood students making reindeer for Christmas.
School exchange
Our school exchange to Ressins will take place next term and plans and already advancing well. Twenty-eight students will travel to Ressins and stay with their host families for the weed-end and in the boarding school for the remainder of the term.
French Breakfast
Second year students recently enjoyed a French breakfast of hot chocolate, croissant, baguette and Nutella prepared by Mrs. Early.Â
French Students Visit
The recent visit to our school by a group of French students was enjoyed by our leaving Certs who spent the afternoon chatting in French with our visitors. Many thanks to Marie Honeyman who organised the event. Â
