The senior boys football team have had a very busy start to the year and have already competed in 3 competitions. The Corn Breifne competition which involves the Leitrim schools ended in great success for the team. The semi-final was against Carrick CS and after a hard fought first half we played extremely well in the second half to run out winners 4-15 to 1-8. The final was against St. Clare’s which was held in the Centre of Excellence in Annaduff and after a very competitive game we won 5-15 to 3-2 to retain the trophy with Adam Goldrick lifting the prize.

The John Williams 7-aside tournament was held in Drumkeeran at the end of September. All seven schools in Leitrim attended on the day and this made the competition very competitive. Our first game was against Drumshanbo VS and we were lucky to win by 3-4 to 2-6. Our 2nd game in the group was against Mohill CC and we won 5-6 to 1-2 which meant we progressed to the semi final against St. Clare’s.
After a fast and entertaining game we won on a scoreline of 3-2-to 0-8.
The result set up a final against Carrick CS which turned out to be a tactical battle.
Fortunately we came out on the right side of this battle on a low scoreline of 0-4 to 0-3. Our Captain Jarlath Scollan lifted the trophy.
Last week saw the start of the Connacht B league with an away fixture against Carrick CS. After a tough first half the sides were level 1-3 to 0-6 with the Carrick side finishing to the net with the last kick of the first half. We played very well after the break and won 2-13 to 1-5. Our next two games in the league are against St. Aloysius Athlone and Roscommon CBS with the top 2 teams going through to the knockout stages
