On Friday 19th October the 5th year Home Economics class went on a trip to local butcher Michael Scollan’s premises. As part of the Leaving Certificate curriculum students study the topic of meat in depth and so to link in with the theory learnt in class Michael gave an insightful overview of various cuts of meat, ways of tenderising meat, types of meat to purchase particularly if on a budget and the importance of traceability of meat.
