Lots happening around school today as we began our themed wellbeing week. Today’s activities included TYs making healthy snacks which they gave out at break time. A staff cook off took place at lunch time in the Home Ec room between Mr Duignan and Mr Keeney. Thanks to 5th years Romy and Nicole who were kitchen assistants at the event and to the judges Mya, Rebecca and Ava. Congrats to Mr Duignan who is the new cook off champion
1st years also enjoyed a hike up to Mass Rock with their year head Mr Nolan, Ms Stenson and Ms Simpson. Mr Mullen and the TYs organised a fun whole school quiz to end a fun day at school.
Day 2
Second year science students planting sweetcorn, pumpkins, peas, broad beans, beetroot, red onions, white onions, cauliflour, lettuce, potatoes and cabbage as part of wellbeing week and also linking with green schools and GCE topics around zero hunger, quality education and good health and wellbeing
3rd Years also got to enjoy bubble football
Day 3
Lots happening around school today for wellbeing week with 2nd years enjoying Jiving classes facilitated by A & C Country Jiving

1st years participated in meditation classes this afternoon.


Home Economics students cooked a variety of nutritious dinners. 1st yrs made Chicken & Veg Fajitas and 5th years made a range of vegetarian dishes (General Tso Tofu & Vegetables with Rice, Veggie Burgers and Vegetable Lasagne).


We finished the day with a drop everything and read class
Day 4
Today 5th and 6th Year students received an engaging presentation from
Thrive with Niall Staff also availed of the opportunity to take time out for the wellbeing talk with Niall after school this evening. There was staff meditation at lunchtime in our prayer room led by Ms Mannion and there was nutritious snacks at break time.
First year science students were busy planting bee friendly flowers in the polytunnel to help encourage biodiversity and bee populations. The Amber Flag also did random acts of kindness all week for the different year groups. Due to the weather our sports day has been postponed until next week. Thanks to everyone who helped out in various events and activites across the week and to our wellbeing coordinator Mr Nolan for his organisation of the week of events.
