Lots of activity around the school today as we celebrated Culture Day here at BCS. Students enjoyed showcasing posters, flags, traditional food and dress from their cultures.
Food is such an important part of culture and sharing it is a wonderful way to celebrate and discover the magic of cultures so there was a hive of activity in Ms Cooney’s Home Ec room today.
Mr Keeney’s French classes enjoyed making crepes. The Irish Department organised Sean Nos Dancing for 2nd and 5th year classes facilitated by Áirc Damhsa Culture Club
Mr Mullen’s 3rd year Geography class organised and ran an interactive global citizenship education game, giving out prizes to those who could complete the game. They also displayed a large map of the world at the entrance of the school which showcased the countries and cultures of our school community.
The Science Department had been busy over the last few weeks with their 1st and 2nd year classes investigating scientists from around the world and created an amazing display.
Ms Harvey organised a Culture Day Kahoot Quiz for the 1st years and their TY mentors, which was a fun way to end the day of festivities.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in displaying stands today. You put fantastic work into making the day such a fun and memorable one.
