Senior Boys Results v St Clare’s and Coola

Ballinamore CS 3 – 9 St. Clare’s 0 – 6
Ballinamore Senior boys football team began their Connacht senior C campaign with a hard fought victory over St. Clare’s in Aughwillian. It was a close fought first half until St. Clare’s were reduced to 14 players with Ballinamore taking advantage by scoring 2 quick goals to lead 2 -4 to 0 – 3 at halftime. Ballinamore controlled the second half and with some fine scores taken they won on a scoreline of 3 – 9 to 0 – 6. Thanks to Aughawillian GAA for the use of their facilities.
Scorers were Jamie Plunkett 1- 3, Fiachra McGovern 0 – 1, Cormac Moran 0 – 3, Dessie Wisley 0 – 1, Colm Mc Loughlin 1 – 0, Micheal Moran 1 – 0, Dara Greenan 0 – 1.
Ballinamore CS 3 – 15 Coola CC 2 – 12
Our second championship game took place in Riverstown V Coola CC. Ballinamore started off very efficiently taking a lead of 0 – 11 to 0 – 4 at half time and kept Coola at a distance for the rest of the game. At the start of the second half the lads showed their instinct for goals and scored two in quick succession to lead by 12 points. For the last 15 minutes Ballinamore let Coola back into the game and conceded late goals to give Coola hope but held out to win on a scoreline of 3-15 to 2-12.
