Ballinamore CS hosted a 13 aside Blitz in Sean O Heslin’s pitch on Wednesday, 26th April 2017. 3 teams attended, namely Ballinamore CS, Carrick CS and Drumshanbo VS. Each team played 2 group games at 30 mins a game, with the top two teams into the final.

In Ballinamore’s first game vs Carrick CS goals were what won it for Ballinamore in a very tight tussle on a score line of 7:3 to 4:5. In Ballinamore’s second game they played Drumshanbo VS and found themselves down by 6 pts at half time only to claw back the defecit and win on a final score of  6:5 to 2:8.

In the other group game, Carrick CS beat Drumshanbo VS setting up a Ballinamore vs Carrick final. In a very tight final which was a draw at ht on 2:1 each, Ballinamore defence rode out the storm of Carrick attacks and goals from Ella Galligan Maguire (2:2), Leah Smyth (2:0) and scores from Síomha Quinn (0:3) and Caoimhe Mc Dermott (0:1) saw Ballinamore ending up as victors on a final score of 4:6 to 2:4.
