This week (12th of December to the 16th of December) as part of our social awareness week TY students ran a food appeal for St. Vincent De Paul. They went around to every class first thing in the morning and collected food from students. Once the students had brought in food their name was entered into a competition to win a selection box. Almost every student brought in some food. The TY students collected several boxes of food to donate to St. Vincent De Paul. On Thursday Colin Smyth a TY student made an announcement over the intercom to remind everybody about social awareness week and also to remind students to bring in food. On Friday at break time TY students had a surprise for the whole school including the teachers. They decided to do the mannequin challenge which is a famous video on social media. This was to raise social awareness about social media. After the mannequin challenge people from St. Vincent De Paul came and collected the food. Overall our social awareness week ran very successfully in our school.
