Prefects are appointed only for our senior years. Their selection by management and staff is a reflection of the maturity, responsibility, co-operation and work ethic which these students have displayed during their junior years. It is also a recognition of the potential for leadership. Appointments are normally for the duration of the senior cycle. Prefects are ambassadors for the school. Their function is to represent the student cohort at both in school and out of school functions. These include School Masses, Concerts, Parent Teacher Meetings, Enrolment Day, Primary School visits. The majority of the work is carried out while in the non examination year so as to minimise loss of class and study time.
