There was a great atmosphere here in BCS today as we celebrated our first Culture Day in the school. Students set up displays with posters, currency, books, food & specific clothing or items that represented their culture.
Following the displays and performances, crepes and a game of boules, there was a whole school drop everything and read in the afternoon where students were encouraged to read some cultural books & articles. What made the day is that it very much came from the students.
It was a great way to learn and share, respect and be respected, understand and acknowledge and to celebrate the world of cultural diversity in which we live today. Thank you to everyone who set up displays and participated in performances. We will have a video showcasing the event next week but in the meantime check out some pictures from the day. Massive thanks to the social justice club and TYs for helping the event run so smoothly.
