TYs have had a very busy term since Easter, taking part in a number of trips workshops and activities, all the while finalising end of year projects and preparing for summer tests.
The group went on a waterlands field excursion in Co Cavan, where they learned about conservation of and biodiversity on our critically important wetlands.
They also started an Olympic Handball programme and Paddles Up kayaking programme on the canal, both organised by Leitrim Sports
The TY Girls took part in The Caman 4 Fun Camogie programme, which culminated in a great day out at ATU Sligo for a blitz with other schools in the North West.
This was followed by two highly informative workshops around nutrition, sleep and stress management delivered by ReFresh Nutrition.
The group also had a money matters workshop from MABS, and a CluedIn workshop delivered by the Credit Union.
In early May, we had Irish School.of Excellence in again to deliver a full day Driver Ed programme, in which each student had a driving lesson on the basketballs courts, as well ask great workshops around car safety, maintenance and finance.
Finally, the group had their end of year trip to Lilliput Adventure Centre. This was a great day away as well as being the final piece of the puzzle necessary to receive their Bronze Gaisce Award, which they have working towards all year by getting involved in their communities, learning new skills and engaging with physical activity.
Not long left in the year now, but the TY group of 2023/24 still have plenty to pack in to the final few weeks before their graduation.
