Ballinamore Schools have operated a unique system of common enrolment since 1968. During the nineties school management and various Parent Association committees lobbied for a single site school. As part of educational rationalization in the county it was announced in 2001 by the Minister for Education & Science that Ballinamore Vocational School and Fatima & Felims Secondary School were to be officially amalgamated as a Community School. A protracted and intensive lobbying campaign eventually yielded in 2007, the purchase of a site along the road to Enniskillen and in 2008 the commitment to a new single site school as part of the third bundle of schools to be built under the Public Private Partnership model. This bundle of schools – eight in total went to build in November 2012, with construction of Ballinamore Community School to be completed by February 2014….
