Senior C result

Ballinamore CS recorded their second victory on Senior C with a 4 point win over St Clare’s.

Ballinamore played with the wind in the first half and settled early racing into a 5 point lead. St Clare’s opened their account with a point and with Ballinamore on top in defence and aided by a strong breeze we added another 1:4 before half time to leave us 1:9 to 0:4 at half time.The goal from a rocket by Lindel Moran. Indeed At Clare’s goalkeeper made 2 top class saves to deny Ballinamore certain goals.

Against the wind in the second half Ballinamore started well and kicked the first 4 points of the half to leave us 12 points ahead. St Clare’s made a few changes and added a number of points to get it back to 6 but Ballinamore were creating chances but found the wind hard to score against. An unlucky touch of the ball on the ground lead to a St Clare’s penalty which they scored leaving just 3 in it with about 10 minutes to go.

Both sides created chances but Ballinamore defended strongly and managed to hold sway and keep the opposition out. With the game in injury time Ballinamore got the final points to leave 4 in it at the final whistle.Well done girls on a hard fought victory and commiserations to St Clare’s.
