Well done girls on a hard fought victory away in Carrick.Ballinamore played with the wind in the first half and Carrick settled first to get a good score against the wind from play. Ballinamore then got going and got a goal and a from Lucy Murphy to settle us. Carrick played really well against the breeze and added 7 more points to Ballinamore’s 3 with Aoife Donohue and Kate Conefrey adding the Ballinamore points. At half time Carrick lead by a point and were deserving of the lead.
In the second half Ballinamore got to grips early and scored 2 quick goals from Lucy and Nicole Hargaden. Resolute defending at the back and good saves and kick outs from goalkeeper Romy MC Alister kept Carrick at bay.
Ballinamore added 2 more goals from sharp shooter Nicole Hargaden who got a gat trick and 3 points from Aoife Donohue saw Ballinamore home with a hard earned win. Carrick missed alot of chances throughout the match it has to be added.
Congrats to our girls on a great display throughout and in particular the second half. Commiserations to Carrick on a very good game. Ballinamore’s next game is Vs St Clare’s Manor Hamilton next week.
