Senior Girls defeat to St Clare’s

Our Senior ladies lost their 3rd group game to St Clare’s Manorhamilton in Boggaun on Tuesday 24th October. In a very competitive game the 2 teams couldn’t be separated until St Clare’s struck for 1:4 in the last 12 minutes of the game. Ballinamore trailed by 3 points at half time but a fine goal by Dearbla Gunn brought the teams level at 1:3 each early in the second half. Remarkably no team scored for the next 15 minutes in which time Ballinamore keeper Aoife Donohue made a number of fine saves including a penalty save. While Ballinamore created a number of chances a strong cross wind saw the ball ending up in the goalkeepers hands when we did attack.
A late flourish by St Clare’s saw them close out the game by 7 points on a 2:7 to 1:3 score line. Hard luck to the girls on a hard fought battling performance in tough conditions.
Best of luck to St Clare’s in the rest of the competition.
