TY Graduation

Our TY group had their grad today. A bit different from other years, but we wanted to mark the end of a strange year in a meaningful way.

First, Mr Mullen and Mary Conefrey from Leitrim County Library presented students with their awards for their ‘History on My Doorstep’ projects.

Next, each student gave a speech outlining classes, activities and workshops that they enjoyed throughout the year.

Afterwards, Mr McCaffrey an Mr Geoghegan addressed the group, and they received a number of awards.

During the ceremony, we also got word that the group, under Mr Slevin’s guidance have been voted in the top 3 schools in the country in this year’s Press Pass Nationwide journalism competition! A fantastc achievement.

Afterwards, students watched the traditional end of year slideshow  and then were treated to a visit from an ice-cream van and picnic.

Well done to the TY group of 2020/2021. They showed great resilience to get through a difficult year, and really embraced everything that was put in front of them over an extremely busy term since Easter. Their experiences this year will certainly stand to them as they move forward to senior cycle.
