Ladies Football Update November 2015

Ballinamore CS have entered three Connacht School’s Competitions for 2015/2016 and are making good progress to date.

Senior C

We have played three games in this competition to date.

16/09/2015  Ballinamore CS 5:10   St. Nathy’s Ballaghadereen 1:12. In St. Felim’s.

29/09/2015  Ballinamore CS 7:14   Coola 3:3. In St. Felim’s

6/10/2015   Ballyhaunis CS 0:6         Ballinamore CS 3:17. In Ballyhaunis

This means we have qualified for the semi final of the competition playing the team that finished second in the other group. Details later. Well done girls.

Junior B

We have played three games to date, winning one and losing two.

10/11/2015 St. Joseph’s, Castlebar 3:2  Ballinamore CS  11:9. Castlebar Mitchell’s

We now have one more match to play against table-toppers, Carrick CS. To be played week of 23rd-27th November. We need to win this match to put ourselves into a playoff for second position in the group.

U14C Division 4

We have played all three group games and won all of them to top our group.

23/10/2015 Ballinamore CS 9:12  Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown 5:5. St. Felim’s

6/11/2015  Ballinamore CS 10:13 Castlerea CS 4:3. St. Felim’s

We now await the outcome of the other groups. Our next game will be a preliminary round and we play the team who finished second in Division 2. There are 7 Divisions in total and the winner of the preliminary round plays in the quarter final. Well done girls.

First Year Girls

Our first year girls are training for the U14 team and as well as that took part in a Leitrim First Year Blitz in Ballinamore, Sean O Heslin on 22/09/2015. The were split into two teams and played teams from St. Clare’s, Manorhamilton, Drumshanbo VS and Mohill CC.

Thanks to all the girls for their efforts  in turning up to train and in playing the matches. Keep at it and we will continue to make progress.
