The TY class co-ordinated the Seachtain na Gaeilge events for the whole school in conjunction with the national language festival. This week took place during the week of St. Patricks Day with school activities from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st of March. Everyone in the school participated in some form or another in this week and we all had great fun. The first and second years designed a poster based on a “Seanfhocal” or an irish language proverb. The TY class judged this competition and picked the winners. This was a very difficult job so well done to all who participated. The winners in each class were presented with an Easter Egg and the posters were displayed around the school. The senior students took part in a Tráth na gCeist where they all learned lots of new information particularly on the teachers cars! The TY class worked hard to come up with rounds for the quiz and the music round in particular proved difficult! Again the winners were presented with prizes. Thank you to the TY class for their hard work organising the quiz. In our TY class we had a look at the meaning of Seanfhocal, designed a poster and made our own Ogham stones. We are looking forward to Seachtain na Gaeilge next year already!
