Miss Colums second year science class went on an ecology field trip to the vocational school on thursday the fourth October. Students used the quadrat to identify the types of plants present and also the line transect to show the variation in the types of plants from one place to another. Students also used the soil thermometer, a sweep net, a pooter to collect insects and also set up pitfall traps. Students also formed a food web to show the connection between interlinked food chains. It was a lovely sunny October day and students enjoyed the field trip.
