Leaving Cert. Field Study – Geography

As part of the Leaving Cert. Geography syllabus, students must complete a field study and this year the two Geography classes, along with their teachers, Ms. Clarke and Mr. Mullen completed a river study on nthe Yellow River, Aughnasheelin. On seperate days the two classes investigated the processes that form featuer in the upper, middle and lower course. We studied a V-Shaped Valley, a meander, a waterfall and a flood plain. Students must choose one of these features and give a detailed description and explanation of it’s formation. This accounts for 20% of their final mark and the final draft must be completed by April 2012.
