Students recently celebrated « La Semaine Française » with many different activities organised by their French teachers. There was a wide range of activities and something for everyone to enjoy regardless of their level of French.
Each day there was French music from various artistes such as Edith Piaf, Strome ,Aaron Chupe and Zas on the PA system at break and lunchtime which gave a French ambience to the school which was already decorated with French flags, bunting, posters and displays of students’ work.
Students learned to play BOULES and enjoyed crêpes prepared by Pascal le Guen assisted by Sheila O’Brien which really brought a French flavour to the school!
There were quizzes in French and prizes won by some lucky students.
2nd year students watched Les Choristes, a beautiful story of a French school and 5th years watched the true story of Philippe Cluzet in Les Intouchables a really lovely must- see film.
There was a display of French regional dishes prepared by TY and Ms Cooney and a delicious French déjeuner for the staff on Wednesday.
A special Merci to everyone who helped to organise and run La Semaine Française.
It is hoped that all students enjoyed the experience and acquired a little taste of French culture.
